Meetings usually take place every other month, on a Wednesday. Meetings take place at 7.30 pm in Wetton Village Hall. Please see the calendar of meeting dates published on the noticeboard. The meeting dates may be subject to change for a variety of reasons; therefore, please see the publicised agenda for each meeting for confirmation.
Attendance at Meetings
Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings of Wetton and Back of Ecton Parish Council. A ten-minute public speaking section takes place near the beginning of each meeting during which members of the public are allowed to speak, following the guidance contained in a document available at the beginning of each meeting. Members of the public can remain in the meeting after this time but can no longer make representations.
Annual Meetings
The annual meeting of the parish council takes place in May. The parish annual meeting also takes place in May. Agendas will be posted on the website and on the noticeboard before each meeting.
The minutes of each parish council meeting remain ‘draft’ until approved at the subsequent meeting. The minutes should not be copied/reproduced or extracts taken without the permission of the Wetton and Back of Ecton Parish Council.
Planning Applications
The planning authority is Peak District National Park Authority. The parish council is consulted on planning applications within the parish.
Elections Information
From 4 May 2023, in person voters will be required to show an accepted form of photographic identification in order to receive their ballot paper(s) to cast their vote in a polling station at: UK Parliamentary general elections and Parish Council elections.
